Dermal Technology Laboratory specialises in in vitro dermal absorption studies that are required as part of the safety testing of new and existing chemicals, agrochemicals, personal care, and pharmaceutical products.
DTL is uniquely placed as the world’s only facility solely dedicated to the conduct of GLP compliant in vitro percutaneous absorption. Our speciality scientists have established international reputations as leaders in the field; this includes integral development of in vitro guidelines (including OECD 428). They can provide advice on all aspects of percutaneous absorption comprising study review and guideline interpretation.
Our in vitro dermal absorption studies routinely utilize human, rat and pig skin. We provide radiochemical formulation preparation and analysis or cold analytical techniques including HPLC and GC as appropriate. We also offer ICP-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES).
In addition to safety assessment studies, the company is involved with the research and development of new products aimed at improving the delivery of drugs into and through the skin using novel formulation technology. Utilizing high throughput, cost-effective, fast delivery screen for product selection and formulation optimization
DTL offer a consultancy service in the area of dermal absorption, including preparation of bridging cases, design and interpretation of percutaneous absorption studies for submission to various Regulatory authorities, including EFSA and SCCS in the European Union and EPA/FDA in the USA.
