Molecular Throughput specializes in custom recombinant protein production using baculovirus, E. coli, and mammalian expression systems. We are particularly strong in baculovirus generation, expression screening, and scaleup. Although tagged proteins are a popular request, we also purify non-tagged proteins from recombinant and native sources. Our services reach beyond the normal boundaries of the standard recombinant protein CRO as we have acquired tissues from exotic species to produce cDNAs and carried them to novel proteins that are not found in public databases such as GenBank...

Molecular Throughput specializes in custom recombinant protein production using baculovirus, E. coli, and mammalian expression systems. We are particularly strong in baculovirus generation, expression screening, and scaleup. Although tagged proteins are a popular request, we also purify non-tagged proteins from recombinant and native sources. Our services reach beyond the normal boundaries of the standard recombinant protein CRO as we have acquired tissues from exotic species to produce cDNAs and carried them to novel proteins that are not found in public databases such as GenBank. Additionally, we have developed enzyme assays to not only follow purifications, but to screen inhibitors for recombinant enzymes we have produced.
The company was founded by Barry Holwerda, Ph.D. who has over 35 years of bench experience that includes both academic NIH-funded PI to heading numerous laboratories in big pharma.
