MicroBiome Therapeutics’ focus is on products that modify the GI microbiota and its environment in specific ways to produce measureable improvements in health status.

Our microbiome modulators act on multiple factors in the GI environment. In contrast to probiotics, which attempt to affect the GI microbiome by adding certain bacteria, our microbiome modulators take a comprehensive approach. They provide specialized nutrition that augments the growth of targeted desirable bacteria strains, and also modify factors such as the endocrine response that affects appetite, metabolism and energy storage, providing an optimal GI environment conducive for health.

Our lead microbiome modulator, NM504, is currently being tested in a clinical trial for the management of insulin sensitivity and blood glucose levels in individuals with prediabetes and diabetes, as well as in a pilot clinical study as an adjunctive therapy to metformin, the most widely prescribed therapy worldwide for the management of type 2 diabetes.
