IlluminOss Medical is a privately held medical device company dedicated to bringing minimally invasive solutions for the stabilization and treatment of bone fractures to market. With an aging population contributing to the growing number of fracture incidences, there is a compelling need for a method of fracture repair to successfully mend osteoporotic bone. The IlluminOss Photodynamic Bone Stabilization System utilizes a photodynamic (light-curable) polymer system intended to modernize the traditional methods of bone fixation, which still use metal rods and screws and are not effective for osteoporotic patients.

Founded in 2007, IlluminOss has multiple U.S. and international patents pending, tens of millions in venture capital funding, a world-class medical team, and a demonstrated technology designed specifically to address the needs of the global orthopaedic trauma market.

IlluminOss has CE Mark approval in Europe for its intramedullary bone stabilization system for low load-bearing bone injuries, and is working vigorously to extend this approval to load-bearing bones in the near future. IlluminOss’s core technology, a minimally invasive, photodynamic system for bone fracture repair designed to customize every implant to the patient, is the first of its kind in the world and brings the most scientifically advanced innovation to orthopaedics in over half a century. Future extensions of the proprietary platform target spine, sports medicine, cranio-maxillofacial, and therapeutic delivery applications.

IlluminOss is an Investigational Device only and is not yet approved for sale in the U.S.
