We established mcule.com in 2011 with the aim to create the best drug discovery platform available online. In 2008, two of the founders of mcule.com published one of the largest virtual screen in a drug discovery project. We established mcule.com in 2011 with the aim to create the best drug discovery platform available online.
In 2008, two of the founders of mcule.com published one of the largest virtual screen in a drug discovery project. They were able to screen millions of compounds and found novel active molecules for treating asthma and allergy. The high level of integration between drug discovery tools and computational power was the key to success. The four founders (Robert, Ferenc, Mark and Zoltan) realized that with an integrated drug discovery platform researchers could achieve things that were impossible in the past. In that moment, the idea of mcule.com was born.
Even though the pharma industry spends billions of dollars on research, only 1 out of 10 new projects is successful in the clinical trials. The success depends on the quality of the drug candidates. Experts agree that the quality of the drug candidates is mainly depending on the quality of the initial hits. Thus the success of drug discovery depends on finding the best drug candidates in the haystack of the chemical space as early as possible.
