Aptagen is more than just an aptamer development company providing an alternative to that of conventional antibodies - Aptagen develops customized aptamer based technologies and products that make your life easier.
Aptagen is focused on using our custom aptamer-based development services to generate novel reagents, diagnostic and biomarker discovery tools, as well as for use in drug discovery, targeted delivery for therapeutics, and bioindustrial applications.
Our technology employs an aptamer as a recognition element to bind to a variety of target antigens. Aptamers are sometimes referred to as “chemical antibodies or DNA antibodies" although they can be much more than that. These recognition elements are designed to communicate within a diagnostic scaffold, in order to relay target binding events into a measurable signal (or switching) which is fully customized for your application. For example, we commonly combine aptamers with allosteric ribozymes, known as the "Apta-beacon", to generate a tool that effectively reports on target binding and can be measured fluorescently, colorimetrically, or through the use of gel electrophoresis.
