The company was established in 2009 and after just four years, the company is nominated in the ten top in the world as biosimilars with the support of the European Union, Public Administration, through funding aimed at the development of R&D SMEs
The company started its activities at the University of Cádiz (Spain), through the Curaxys Cathedra. Currently, it also boasts its own research center, 3200 m2, located in the Parque Científico Tecnológico PCTA, in Jerez (Spain). Additionaly, a 3500 m2 production centre is being built at the Parque Tecnológico Tecnobahía, in El Puerto de Santa María (Spain).
Curaxys is currently the only company in Spain that is integrated from bench to production and commercialisation of biosimilars, amongst other therapeutic proteins. Regarding the development of new products, it is though to be the sixth on a worldwide scale, according to “Data Monitor” (published February 2012).
