Over 30 years of scientific experience (20+ in the pharmaceutical industry) in cancer research, small and large molecule drug discovery and development, human/cancer genetics, technology development including pharmacogenomics and biomarker discovery. Accomplishments include identification and characterization of an oral cdk4/6 inhibitor Verzenio (abemaciclib), portfolio entry and hit-to-lead activities for numerouse targets, development of novel multiplexed in vitro and in vivo assays, implementation of patient stratification and pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies for multiple projects. Extensive experience with drug repurposing for rare, neglected and genetic diseases.
