The Lipidomics Facility offers the qualitative and quantitative determination of lipids in various biological materials (cells, tissues, blood, C. elegans, Drosophila, zebrafish etc.). Our service includes the whole workflow from the sample preparation to the lipid extraction, the analytical measurements and the evaluation of the raw data. The following techniques are available at the Lipidomics Facility:

Analytical Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), with opportunity for coupling to Mass Spectrometry (TLC/MS)
Liquid Chromatography / Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS)
Gas Chromatography with Mass Selective Detection (GC/MSD)
Our technical facilities comprise the Linomat 5 and the TLC Scanner 3 (CAMAG) for analytical TLC determinations. The TLC/MS Interface (CAMAG) enables coupling of TLC with the mass spectrometer 4000 QTRAP (AB SCIEX). For LC/MS/MS analyses, the 4000 QTRAP can be connected to the HPLC 1200 Series (Agilent). The technical equipment is complemented by the 7890 A/5975C GC/MSD system (Agilent).
