The Bioinformatics Facility assists biomedical research groups with computerised systems for processing molecular data of all kinds. The range of services provided by this CECAD facility covers four core areas:

  • Molecular data analysis
  • Data management
  • Software development
  • Advisory services

A key issue in the field of molecular data analysis is handling the enormous amounts of data that can be generated by current high-throughput technologies such as next-generation sequencing. For research groups handling a large volume of data, the Bioinformatics Facility offers support with data management and the setting up of appropriate databases. In close collaboration with CECAD research teams, it also develops software solutions to address specific scientific questions and, if required, will assist with any statistical or methodological problems relating to molecular data analysis.
