The CCG is a research center for medical genomics at the University of Cologne. High performance computers with the relevant bio-informatics infrastructure support modern data management as well as the efficient and professional statistical analysis of sequences. A high throughput, second-generation sequencing platform (3 Illumina Genome Analyzer II, 1 Roche -454 FLX Genome Sequencer) offers high technical performance. A platform for the hybridization of Affymetrix and Illumina microarrays is also available. As well as an introduction to use of the equipment, the platform offers project-specific advice on methodology and support in the areas of statistics and bio-informatics.
