Addgene is a non-profit company that facilitates biomedical research and discovery by operating a plasmid repository for the scientific community. We work with thousands of laboratories all over the world to collect high-quality published plasmids and unique plasmid collections for distribution.
Each plasmid is sequenced for quality control upon deposit. Addgene also uses an innovative electronic MTA system so that every plasmid transfer is accompanied by a signed MTA – a process which takes just a few days. Depositing to the library is free. Requestors pay a small shipping and handling fee which depends on the size of the order and the location of the requesting lab.
Addgene’s global biorepository distributes plasmids for gene expression, shRNA-knockdown, retroviral and lentiviral-mediated gene delivery, promoter assays, TALEN-mediated genetic engineering, and much more.
Look for genes, laboratories and plasmids of interest in our searchable database or call one of our Curation Scientists to get help in finding what you need.
