Mortec Scientific Laboratory Group

Dr. Scott Morton is the founder of Mortec Scientific Inc, prior to this he owned and operated Wurain Scientific Ltd. Dr. Morton has been involved in laboratory operations for twenty-five years. He has degrees and awards in science, medicine, chemistry including a doctorate in microbiology and food science. He has become recognized, global "go to" scientist when people need correct and clear answers. After working for a number of years in the scientific field, he attended university yet again to complete his doctoral studies and worked in a number of hospitals in Canada and USA. He has designed, consulted and set up numerous laboratories around the world as a volunteer work with charitable organizations.

Accolades include managing the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) Pet Food Certification Program, Chief Inspector for the City of Toronto Homes for the Aged and City of Toronto Children's Services Daycares. He also helped to pioneer infection control week in cities across Canada and served as Executive Director of a global full service testing and research laboratory.

Before laboratory ownership, Dr. Morton was a senior corporate quality assurance professional with a multi-national food and health products manufacturer. Dr Morton and his team pioneered the concept of a full service testing laboratory within its own corporate structure which provided services within and to external companies and their suppliers. He lead a team of quality professionals that reduced customer and consumer complaints in a global corporation by over 100% within a year.

Dr. Morton pioneered a systematic approach to motivate every employee, from the boardroom to the production floor His program encouraged each stakeholder to buy-in to a fully integrated quality assurance program without losing precious production time. He understands intrinsically the effects of excessive labor over-runs and heightened costs on all aspects of a program, when planning and operating a systemic quality program. This among other principles guided the Mortec and affiliate operations from their inception in 2007.
