The Bioimaging Core Facility located at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics provides bioimaging service for internal and external users as well as Biotech companies. The Facility offers access to advanced microscopes, careful instruction and advice on optimal use of the microscopes. The Bioimaging Core Facility located at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics provides bioimaging service for internal and external users as well as Biotech companies. The Facility offers access to advanced microscopes, careful instruction and advice on optimal use of the microscopes. Dr. Anna Jurkiewicz is Core Facility Operator and supervises the use of the facility's four microscopes:
- Zeiss LSM780 Confocal system with Axio Imager upright microscope
- Zeiss Axiovert 200M LSM 510 Meta confocal
- Zeiss Axioplan upright with fluorescence
- Leica M165FC stereo/ fluorescence
A number of internal and external users have previously used the Facility free of charge and taken advantage of the expertise and support from Dr. Anna Jurkiewicz. This arrangement is formalised in a Core Facility, and in order to maintain the microscopes and the service level, there will be a small fee on the Facility. The microscopes are booked via the Exchange Calendar or by contacting Anna Jurkiewicz.
