The Core Facility "Confocal and multiphoton microscopy," Faculty of Medicine is available to all scientists of the faculty and university for their research available.
For molecular imaging for the different research activities, especially in the neurobiological, physiological and developmental biological research, but also for cell-or molecular biological studies, a combination device, which maps to a deep layers of three-dimensional samples, on the other hand also for single-cell observations with high spatial and temporal resolution is ideally suited to operate. In combination with an upright laser scanning microscope and new NDD ("non-descanned detection") electronics, as well as ultrakurzgepulster femtosecond multiphoton technology is low imaging possible using an inverse laser scanning microscope and confocal long-time imaging of molecular processes in living cells . Protein interactions can with a matching FLIM ("fluorescence lifetime imaging") detector, which is connected via the direct coupling port of the laser scanning microscope, to be elucidated. If necessary it is also possible to analyze about this technique, the auto-fluorescence of different tumor cells and tissues and to determine the redox state.
