The Proteomics Center at Erasmus MC provides mass spectrometry based proteomics services for the local scientific community, as well as for external researchers within The Netherlands and outside. Research projects in our laboratory focus on the characterization of protein complexes ('interactomics'), the analysis of protein posttranslational modifications in relation to their biochemical roles and on the analysis of (sub)cellular proteomes and the dynamics thereof.
The key technology in our lab is quantitative mass spectrometry (nanoLC-MS/MS) based proteomics (SILAC, TMT/iTRAQ, 18O, dimethylation and label free approaches). The ultimate goal of our research is to develop analytical tools to better understand how cellular processes are controlled at the molecular level.
The Center closely collaborates with many research departments at Erasmus MC and several research groups within The Netherlands and abroad. Much of this work was and is done within the context of national and international research schools and consortia such as the Cancer Genomics Center, the Center for Biomedical Genetics, the Medisch Genetisch Centrum, Epigenome NoE, Eurythron, the Netherlands Proteomics Center, EuTRACC and Proteins@Work.
