Rekom Biotech is a biotechnology company focused on the design and production of validated biomarkers for human and animal infectious diseases. Its products are versatile recombinant antigens which can be used as raw material for the production of diagnostic test by using different platforms: ELISA (DAGS), Point of care testing, protein microarrays, CLIA, western blot, line blot, etc.
Rekom Biotech also offers R&D support services regarding design of new proteins and enzymes, and development of purification processes. We offer gene amplification and expression services, optimization-expression studies, culture scale-up in bioreactors by using a fed-batch mode, process development strategies, downstream processing, and immunologic studies by using Western Blot and ELISA assays.
Our main aim is to obtain an extensive range of antigens coming from the disease causing microorganisms not only for the best-known maladies in the world, but also for diseases of local importance, covering other potential markets. We also produce PCR positive controls and IACs as plasmid DNAs which can be used as internal amplification controls for developing qPCRs in order to identify and quantify the DNA of etiological agents for infectious diseases
