11 0 2001 2026

Trials started per year with this organization as sponsor or collaborator, 1990 onward. The series also counts trials where the organization is a collaborator; the lead-sponsor trial count does not.

2026 is partial: 2 registered with a 2026 start date. The dashed outline is the pace from the 1 registered with a start date through September, planned starts included, not adjusted; not a forecast. No forecast is made for this organization: it averages 4.6 trial starts a year over the five years to September, under the 5 a year the method needs.

Sponsor delivery record (1)

Enrollment hit target: the share of this sponsor's lead-sponsored trials whose actual enrollment reached the planned enrollment. On time: the share whose actual primary completion date was no later than the planned date. Each share counts only trials where we observed an estimated figure before the actual one, and n is that number of trials. Below 5 trials the count is shown as a fraction, not a percentage.

The Division of Molecular Biosciences focuses on the molecular mechanisms underpinning biological function. This Division has a broad strength that spans biochemistry, structural and synthetic biology, cell biology, molecular genetics and developmental biology. The groups within Molecular Biosciences focus on a variety of biological systems including Drosophila, yeast, Arabidopsis, tobacco, Dictyostelium, and mammalian cells, and have a growing strength in the use of post-genomic and systems approaches to solve biological problems.

Research in the Cardiff School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences encompasses all facets of the study of pharmaceuticals. The School's four disciplines represent operational units providing platform knowledge and technical resource support. Research in the laboratory-based sciences covers a spectrum of disease areas including cancer, infection, cardiovascular, musculo-skeletal, respiratory and neurological disorders. This work seeks to identify fundamental mechanisms of disease and new pharmacological targets, the design of novel drug candidates and of innovative drug delivery systems. Complementing the activities of the laboratory sciences are academic staff engaged in understanding the social and psychological aspects of the medicines-patient interface, measuring patients’ quality of life and associated issues around medicines resource allocation.
